Jordyn Eberts

My training and years of experience:

I’m a co-founder of Black Dog Studio, a new art therapy studio in Nelson BC. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology/ Fine Art from University of Alberta and a master’s level diploma from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute (KATI). For the past two years, I have been working in a community agency as a Child and Youth Mental Health Counselor and PEACE counselor (formerly Children Who Witness Violence).

I grew up as a competitive figure skater and I have been coaching skating for over a decade.

My style, focus and what I offer to clients:

My approach to art therapy is guided by a trauma-informed, positive framework, focusing on illuminating one’s own capacity to live a vibrant, authentic, and meaningful life.

Areas of focus:

  • Mental health of athletes

  • Play and fun (body-based creativity)

  • Creative expression with children and youth

  • Trauma-informed processing

I offer services both in-person at the studio, or Online via zoom.

I commit to REACH OUT's request of one free client/year or 10 free sessions/year and beyond that, sliding scale rates are $25 - $50 an hour.
