Mona Sather

As a licensed professional counsellor, I specialize in addressing the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional aspects of mental health. I work with individuals seeking to improve their overall well-being, understand personal stressors, and identify areas of functioning.

Whether you’re uncertain about what’s wrong or simply need a nonjudgmental, objective listener, I am here to support you.
 

I have been working in the wellness industry for over 20 years and recently went back to school to get my professional counselling diploma through Rhodes Wellness College. I started my counselling business in September 2024.

I offer a client-focused and collaborative approach. My aim is to create a warm, safe space where you feel welcomed and accepted as you are.

 Along with Somatic Therapy, (outlined more below), I also weave in mindfulness, attachment-theory, compassionate inquiry, and parts work.
 

Somatic Therapy

I am particularly passionate about somatic therapy, a holistic, body-based approach that integrates mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. In somatic therapy, we explore how your beliefs, emotions, and bodily sensations are interconnected. Through mindful awareness and embodied interventions, we can break free from unhelpful patterns and create lasting positive change.

While we cannot change the past, we can shift how the body holds it, allowing for healing and transformation.

I am currently completing advanced training in relational somatic work, and I am excited to integrate these skills into my practice.

Certified Life Skills Coach

As a certified life skills coach, I’ve experienced firsthand the profound growth and successful transitions that coaching can bring. I believe everyone can benefit from coaching, especially during times of change.

Coaching is a collaborative process where we work together to enhance self-awareness, clarify goals, and unlock your potential for greater fulfillment. It provides a safe space to express emotions, overcome internal blocks, and gain clarity on your desires.

Through active listening, empathy, and powerful questions, coaching helps you think differently and take intentional steps forward. My goal is to support you with compassion, dignity, and respect, while empowering you to be more self-directed.

I currently offer online sessions via a secure video link or in-person if you live in the Nelson, BC or surrounding area.
 

I will work pro bono for one client/year or about 10 sessions/year and I can also provide low cost services at a rate of $0-50 per hour with availability based on space in my practice.
